As the title of this article and the poster above suggest, Thor: Ragnarok is undoubtedly the champion of modern spectacles.
To start with, If you are a visual being, you would not dare to blink a moment off the screen, as you might miss the expensively rendered space scenarios, that indulge you and not for a moment let you think that its green screen in its entirety. Said that, if you are an content hungry intellectual and not only visual and hate the senseless cinema, there's enough eased out Shakespearean drama, moulded in a candy of the unimaginable universe. It is intense at time and much breezy at others.
The dialogues are on point and timing is impeccable. And you are to enjoy the references much more if you have been following the older films from the Marvels Universe. A funny encounter for example in a scene, when something happens to Thor, that happened to Loki in his first film. The Utter delight on Loki's face leaves the audience in splits.
Talking about the Thor and Loki, the princely brothers of Asgard, are finally a team, and the director Taika Waititi has subtly displayed that mischief can not always be evil, and a certain silent bond has emerged between the brothers. The Inspiration from Norse and Viking mythology is certainly not a let down in this one, specially when we finally see Hela, the goddess of death, finally being released upon the universe, after death of Odin, the God King. Might I add, the Vikings have been always one of the coolest races of this planet, for their warrior stance, mythology that wrapped around it and adventures they took to discover places like Americas (It wasn't Columbus if you are thinking). That's what makes Thor series so different and interesting from rest of the Marvel's Characters. There is a certain magical charm about, not to mention the physical magic or illusions that we see now and then. Well, the Universe is vast, you never know if a superior race could control magic.
Talking about magic, our dear character Dr. Strange pays a visit to the God of Thunder, and albeit being a small sequence, its extremely well timed and funny. Must I say, the editing of this film is impeccable.
The background score and music is modern, catchy and empowering. I could feel myself rooting for Thor, even when I liked the opponent's character better.
Finally, did I mention, the visuals were brilliant. No wonder its the highest rated film of all times on rotten tomatoes.
