April 11, 2019: CONFLUENCE (a designer jewellery collective from the house of Swarovski) has launched the Nida Mahmood collection - India Electric. The collection for CONFLUENCE is inspired by the beauty of various crafts like the metal work of Moradabad, the detailing in Mughal and Rajasthan architecture.
CONFLUNCE X Nida Mahmood has taken inspiration from the many intricate styles of art like filigree, Mughal architecture, Indian vintage style marble engravings with a hint of art nouveau and art deco. The jewellery is carefully crafted with vibrant colours of India, represented by the detailed enamel work and use of Swarovski crystals.
This collaboration brings forth a composition mixing the old with the new. The jewellery pieces have an elegant mix of ornate antiques with sleek lacquered finishes. The patina range of crystals have been chosen by Nida from Swarovski Crystals as it gives the pieces a decadent opulence and is reminiscent of the old mirrors found in heritage architecture. The patina crystals have been set in metalwork that is inspired from ornate window mouldings.
With the collection launch, Nida Mahmood joins CONFLUENCE’s existing designer portfolio of fifteen designers, including Amrapali, Eina Ahluwalia, Gaurav Gupta, Isharya, JJ Valaya, Manish Arora, Outhouse, Pernia Qureshi, Rohit Bal, Shivan & Narresh, Suhani Pittie, Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani and Zariin.
