Everyone is hooked onto electronic music. So to give little change in the environment I present to you a lesser known yet amazing artist, Cate Le Bon. Welsh pop singer and songwriter Cate Le Bon moves towards the folk and country side of music. She fuses these genres to modern pop and on rare occasions even towards electronic. She has released four solo albums, three EPs and a number of singles. Le Bon is also known for her collaborations with other artists like Manic Street Preachers, Neon Neon, and Matt Davies. Le Bon's cool, laid-back vocals kindle the popular folksingers of the late '60s, but with her own unique eccentric touch.

Her songs don't bear the emotional weight of a pining singer songwriter. Instead it conveys all the alienation whimsy of a Wes Anderson movie. For most of the parts, though, Le Bon is not a follower.

She's a strong songwriter of often-sad songs about place and family and pets, dead ones in particular and of course, relationships. And, though the songs are sad, her music won't bring you down.

Her debut album ‘Me Oh My’ was released in 2009. She then came out with her second EP ‘Cyrk’ in 2012. But what gave her a breakthrough as an artist is her third album ‘Mug Museum’. Her tracks ‘Sisters’ and ‘I Can’t Help You’ is something that will get your feet tapping. Relentless and steady snare driven drums take over by the end to characterize the songs. The album showed a darker and mournful side of Cate Le Bon. It garnered so much attention; she performed at the Glastonbury Festival that year.

Le Bon released her fourth studio album, Crab Day on April 2016. ‘Crab Day’ brings out Le Bons experimental side where she engages herself with new instruments and sounds. Crab Day received positive reviews from the contemporary audience. Critically it was favourable with 75% claims.

Cate Le Bon beautiful haunting voice will leave you mesmerised. Le Bon's music is carefully formulated from both chaos and control. Her future project includes collaborating with band Deerhunter’s, Bradford Cox. They are planning to release the work they make together as an EP. Only time will tell how this EP stands out from the others. Her work is truly the new generation pop with playful embellishments.
