HUEMN
Inspired by our travels in Kashmir, HUEMN’s Fall 19 is a tribute to the strength of individuals and impact that they can make, if they choose to. It pays homage to the raw energy of the youth of Kashmir set against the backdrop of a beautiful, bountiful conflict ridden landscape. The entire line is a play of contrasts and is a reflection of society today and its need to confine you to pre-defined boxes that you don’t need to fit into. The mood of the collection is an urge to look within as creative people and choose mindfully how to harness that inventive instinct. The collection also draws a strong reference from the iconic sneaker culture of the nineties and finds its way into the shape and cuts of garments. Panelling is done with unexpected materials like handcut rubber sheets interposed with leather applique and print. Meticulously handcrafted surfaces that recreate photographs of landscapes in multimaterial and take hundreds of hours to make are casually paired with athleisure details and fabric play in denim and fleece. Separates are strong and genderless with comfortable, understated and unique detailing. The collection is paired with Reebok Classic ‘Alter the Icons’ collection that hacked the brands heritage to create new renditions of classic silhouettes. The three styles featured in the show are renditions of Classic Leather & Workout Plus that are designed to defy convention and are a perfect fit for Huemns Fall 19 presentation, honoring iconic imagery in street culture of the decades before us and setting a stage for a fresh new look.
